Children's Liturgy

This special opportunity for children 5 to 11 years of age is offered at the 11:00 Sunday Mass. 

Children’s Liturgy of the Word gives your child a positive and friendly experience of “church” which is both reverent and age appropriate.  Each week children receive a handout to share at home.  No registration is needed and you can join in anytime.  A Parent or older sibling may accompany the child on the first visit or two if needed.

How does it work?

The children are dismissed from Church after the gathering prayer and go to St. Joseph’s Chapel with a catechist. The same Sunday readings that you hear in church are proclaimed using the official Children’s Lectionary of the Catholic Church.  The children then hear and share in a brief “homily”, and conclude with prayer together. The children are returned to the Church for the celebration of the Eucharist.
